Alair and Lune

Another pencil sketch made in a bus in my way home. You can tell the roughness of such conditions by the aspect of the paper sheet itself

Anyway, Alair and Lune, secondary characters of Phantasy Star III, for Sega Genesis. The game tells you that Lune is a former Layan general who was sleeping in suspended animation ("frozen") for 1000 years, and suddenly woke up. His sister, Alair, was kidnaped by Orakian rebels, and he set an army of monsters to ravage Alisa III to get her back. That`s where your character (Nial) steps in.

I confess I started this sketch at home drawing some rough lines, basing myself on some Toyo Ozaki`s original art, then finished it by memory later. Lune has this kabuki-like hair that fooled me the couple of times I tried to draw him with no references. I thought about giving him a couple of slicers (since the Lune Slicer is one of the 5 "sacred weapons" in the game after all), but Ozaki herself portrays him with a staff, so I kept it, and also gave a similar one to Alair. Those look more like sticks to me, though :^P
